From Station to Station: Travels with Bowie, 1973-1976, by Geoff MacCormack has recently been published in a limited edition by Genesis publications. Compiled by old school friend and the Spiders from Mars band member, Geoff MacCormack, the book is a kind of photo diary which takes in the

Spiders world tour, which played a huge string of concerts in the US, Japan and the UK, with stop offs in Hawaii and Russia en route.

The legendry final concert of the tour, at the Hammersmith Odeon was in David’s words “the last show that we’ll ever do”. And although that signaled the retirement of Ziggy Stardust and disbanding the Spiders McCromack went on to record the next four studio albums with David and go on the 1974 Diamond Dogs tour.

MacCormack often took photographs and after sitting on them for over 30 years, realised they would form the basis of a historic and entertaining travelogue. The book is signed by the author and includes an introduction by David, it is priced at £295and can be ordered from www.genesis-publications.com.
